Welcome (Back) Party
Hey AMC!
To all the new members who joined us on Thursday, welcome! We hope you enjoy your time here with us at the Anime and Mange Club (AMC for short)! We look forward to seeing you all at various club events!
Speaking of which, it’s time for us to announce our first event of the academic semester - our semesterly Welcome (Back) Party! This is a fun social event, and is a great chance to meet other members in the club, chat about anime and manga, and have fun!
Furthermore, this event is open to everyone, both members and non-members, so feel free to come along and invite your friends too!
Date: Friday, 29th July
Time: 6 - 9 pm
Location: The Lounge, Union House (the room with all of those comfortable couches and microwaves on the ground floor of the Union House)
Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1632860386938913/
A free box of Pocky and can of soft drink will be provided to all members who attend.
In terms of dinner options, donburis, bentos and gyoza can be ordered from our club sponsor, Ramen Ya, which will be delivered to the event - no need to pick it up. Club members will also receive a $4 discount on their order too!
If you’d like to make an order, please fill out the order form on our website by Thursday the 28th, 11:59 pm.
For the new members who have joined us, here is a rundown on some of the things we do, and how to keep up to date with the latest news and events!
Firstly, we run screenings of anime throughout the semester! Generally we generally screen approximately two episodes of an anime series every week in a fixed 1 hour block, until we’ve finished screening the show. This means that by the end of the semester, we’ll have screened two 12 - 13 episode series, or a single 24 - 26 episode show.
This semester is no different, and we have 6 different blocks this semester. That is, we’ll be screening 6 different shows a week! Starting Monday, we’ll be screening Gankutsuou, Princess Tutu, Accel World, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Gatchaman Crowds and Girls und Panzer. For more information about screening times, locations, and a show description, please see our website. If any of these screenings interest you, please feel free to come along!
That aside, in terms of keeping updated on our events and other club details, there are several avenues that we use. The first is, of course, via emails which are sent out to our members. These are also mirrored on our website here, just like this post!
Furthermore, we also have a very active Facebook page. This is one of the best ways to not only be kept posted on what's going on with the club, but to talk and discuss whatever takes your fancy with other members. We welcome all of you to join us!
For real-time conversation, we also have an active Skype chat used by many of our members! It's a very friendly and social chat! Please feel free to join in if you're interested. It does require Skype to be installed to use it though, which can be installed painlessly if you don't have it already from here.
That’s it from us for now! We look forward to seeing you all around the place, and we hope you can make it to the Welcome (Back) Party!
