Announcements for Everybody!
It's almost Week 6: Mid-semester tests are being studied for, assignments are discovered to be due in two weeks, and everyone glances away from their anime backlogs long enough to complain about their workloads. And we've got a lot of things to talk about in this email; click on the links in each dot point for details.
1) With Ping Pong and Another wrapping up, it is time to replace them with new screenings. Starting Week 7, we'll be screening Kids on the Slope on Mondays and Knights of Sidonia on Fridays. Both great shows; check the screenings page for details.
2) We're doing a movie night next Friday. It starts at 6:30pm in the Latham Theatre in Redmond Barry, and we'll be screening 2 short movies: 5 Centimetres Per Second and The Cat Returns. Check the other blog post for details.
3) We've partnered with Animaga, a new anime convention happening this September (27th-28th) to get you 10% off tickets. Come to one of our screenings or other events to buy tickets. If you want to know what Animaga's all about, check out their website.
4) UMSU International's Festival of Nations is happening soon. They're looking for cosplayers to take part (email Wei Jin Lim at w.lim@union.unimelb.edu.au), and are also running a comic strip-making competition (check this Facebook post or email Kenny J. Chen at kennyjc94@gmail.com) to promote it.
